With less than 3 weeks until the big day of Christmas, many people have been
commenting that Christmas is just sounding like it is just a world away!

Just like last year and the year before that, and in the past couple of years I
always seem to find myself running around like a chicken with my head cut off,
trying to find all those last minute bargains and even searching through all those
gifts that have already been picked through. Rushing around doing the last minute
shopping, jumping from store-to-store, just trying to find that perfect present for
that picky someone that is on my shopping list, and it never fails that you always
have that difficult person you have to shop for, which makes it harder and even more
stressful on yourself.

But this year, I think that I’ve come up with one of the easiest ways to make
shopping a breeze, especially if you are waiting till the last minute or you do not
like having to fight all those horrible crowds and traffic while out shopping at
your local shopping centers. It does not even involve getting up on Black Friday
early in the morning to stand in all those crazy lines. Just with the simple click
of your computer you can log onto the Internet and get busy with shopping. Most
places keep everything in stock so you do not have to worry about trying to grab the
last item that is on the shelves. You can sit in the comfort of your own home and
even in your PJ’s. Or if you are a person that loves to just get out and go shopping
around for the day here are some easy shopping themes that you can consider for
everyone on your list.

I’ve come up with the holiday gift shopping solution — make your Christmas shopping
list as to whom you need to purchase gifts for. Then make a “theme” for each
different age group, from the little ones to the adults that you want to purchase
that special gift for. You can stick to one certain theme for everyone or come up
with multiple themes. One of the best themes for the children this year could be
“books.” If you have several children on your shopping list you can purchase several
different books and they can exchange books if another child likes a certain one the
best. Also you can purchase a photo book for a child that might be older so that
they can add their own personalized touch and they will always have a wonderful
place for all those keepsake memories.

Keeping a theme is one of the easiest ways to plan your holiday shopping in advance
before you have to worry about fighting through all the mess at the stores or before
you sit down and browse around on the net. Even though you might even end up doing
all that last minute shopping you will at least know what you are trying to grasp or
at least have a great idea so that you might be able to purchase a similar product.

Just like myself I think that theme shopping has became a lot of fun. When it comes
to picking out all those multiple themes, do not limit your imagination. Let it run
wild. Here are some more wonderful themes that several people including myself have
used. Be creative and enjoy the holidays.

Magazine subscriptions. Every child loves to receive something in the mail. So why
not purchase them a yearly subscription to a children’s magazine. If your mother or
special someone loves to cook you can always subscribe to a cooking magazine. They
will always be able to have a new recipe to try.

Gift certificates or Gift cards. There are always those types of children and even
adults that are very picky or even have everything. So purchase them a gift
certificate or gift card and they will be able to go shopping after all the crazy
holiday shopping is over and purchase exactly what they like. You will be surprised
at how popular gift cards are and how excited that special person will be when they
receive them! Therefore, eliminate all the stress you can by purchasing a gift card
from a clothing store. You can also choose one from their favorite restaurants. You
can never go wrong with a gift certificate or gift card!

Beauty & Health Supplies. if you are shopping for that special gift for your best
girly friends, the beauty and health theme is limitless. Most department stores
offer a pre-made assorted box of perfume or makeup samplers that are lined up at the
makeup counters during the special holidays. They make wonderful gifts and already
come in a gorgeous gift box that you will not even have to worry about wrapping. Not
only do you have to purchase the women on your list nice health and beauty supplies
but you can search for the men’s favorite cologne set and even buy the children
chapstick, play makeup, bath products, and even consider all the assorted lip
glosses. You can never go wrong with these types of gifts.

So what are you waiting for? Do not get yourself all worked up this holiday season,
have fun shopping and have a Happy Theme Christmas Shopping Journey!

Several people this year has been chatting about all the different predictions of
the holiday shopping season, but I am very skeptical. Millions of staticis are
controlled by polls — and most of the polls are speaking about a person’s
intentions, and not their own actions.

It is interesting how we have all seen that the retail stores has taken a fall in
their annual sales just this year. But it is the season for all that holiday
shopping and the floodgates have began to open. I feel that we will see a rise but
not as much as the past years, for the simple reasons:

* It’s all about the children!

With the economy in the middle of these crisis we are in, many individuals are
being weary of the deprivation. Then you might notice that the weariness will then
turn into indignation: Everyone should be able to enjoy something that is new at
least once a year. Or maybe even resignation: Debt will always be around; so go
ahead and enjoy Christmas.
* The frugal burnout.
Many people got out and look around for the bargains and will find the best
deals. Even though others do not realize what their total is until it is ready to
walk out the door with all your bags.
* Having problem calculating?
Many people have been depriving themselves from several things — however, when it
comes to the children the meaning we cannot afford the latest toys is overlooked.
What parent would let their child do without?Be sure your eyes stay open!

Retailers are very sneaky — they still try to make a profit, even when the economy
is very stable. Some stores even began offering multiple sales even weeks before the
holiday season arrives. There are many Americans that are lured into shopping for
the holidays.

While some people are looking over the advertisments or possible this weeks ads for
all the holiday specials others are out buying only what is advertised as the
store’s specials. Do not take it the wrong way: we are all susceptible just like
everyone else in this world is when an advertisement pressures. That is why you have
to stop and organize and have self control strategies to help from overbuying. It
has helped to organize myself onto the right path even before all those Christmas
ads started showing up.
Keeping a list.
Value vs. Cost.
Earning Reward Points.
Comparing stores before making your final purchase.
We are not going to purchase it.

As a nation in ourselves many of us are having to spend less and purchase fewer
nick-knacks, shopping for the bargain generic brands, and even clipping out coupons.
Remember when your plastic little card is tempting you just think to yourself do we
really need it. Many people search for the cheapest technology sales when the
holiday are approaching. Therefore, you will want to make sure that you compare and
do all your research before you make your final selections. Other places might offer
a cheaper price. If your an individual that has enrolled into a rewards program,
make sure that you browse all the various stores and all the options for shopping
and redeeming your points. Certain programs may offer you several points that will
need to be redeemed, cash them in for a gift card that will be free. This is one of
the best gifts that you could get for your best friend. If you where to go out and
find the “major” gift at a thrift store the item looks
brand new, might even still be in the original packages. Do not think that you
should go out and start purchasing more gifts just because you did not have to
spend a lot of money. Put it up and save it. Some people even re-gift or use reward
points to make certain purchases. Remember no one will ever know what you actually
paid for the gifts. I try to arrange a special code and abbreviate items so that if
the kids or husband was to run across Santa’s wish list they will not know what has
been purchased. You might be unaware at what you have actually saved this year. I
am sure that everyone has even ran across your stashed away items that you had
bought last year. If it was not for making the list, I would probably be out
purchasing more and more gifts.

Picture this: You’re planning an anniversary dinner for your husband when you realize the restaurant you chose no longer serves his favorite dish of roasted prime rib. To top it off, it’s Thursday night and you need to make a reservation fast to get that 8 pm seating time on Friday night.
What do you do? You could start calling/texting/emailing your rolodex and then frantically read 100+ restaurant reviews on different internet sites to narrow down any results (hopefully, they have your same taste!). That is, if you have the time and energy.

Well, here’s some good news for you! Freebie Reporter has just discovered a new peer-to-peer recommendation site, Linfo.com. It is an online community that lets you add and share your favorite places with your friends and the community. Since every member is adding only their favorite places with inside tips, it’s easier to find a great place without having to dig through negative reviews.
You already know that the best recommendations come from the people you know. Unlike Citysearch.com, Linfo makes it easy for you to quickly request a recommendation of any type of business (restaurant, service, and even websites like this one) from your friends through their internal recommendation system.
Linfo also allows you to tap into the collective expertise of their diverse community of category experts, regional experts, and insiders. For instance, I know I can trust XXX review of this motorcycle shop because both the site and community have recognized his expertise in motorcycles which is easy to see by his prominently placed badges. If I want more information on motorcycles, I can even subscribe to his activity and the site will alert me any time he adds new favorites in a related category.
What I like most about Linfo is that it’s focused on a community of people sharing resources to help others. Kind of like this website…..

As the global economy worsens, and the holiday season quickly approaches, there are still ways to show someone you care while staying on budget. All you’ll need is patience, an idea, and a little bit of creativity. A gift from the heart means much more than a store bought gift anyway, right? It shows you care, and appreciate them for who they are. If you’re a bit short on ideas, here are a few to get your creative juices flowing.
My first, and favorite, idea is creating a scrapbook. What could show someone you care more than a homemade scrapbook filled with pictures of the two of you. This is a very simple idea, and you can usually purchase a scrapbook at an art store for a few bucks. Then just get some pictures, non-acidic glue, and maybe even some colored paper to make the pages look better. Then just cut and paste to your hearts content.

The second idea, which requires no money at all, is an IOU booklet. This can be a booklet filled with coupons “good for one free…” You can promise a free backrub for your husband or wife, or even promise to take your niece or nephew to the movies one night. Get creative with these and have some fun. Who wouldn’t enjoy getting a free fishing trip the next summer? You can also use these to allow you some time to save up money to spend on the gift.
The third idea is to make a gift basket personalized to whom ever you are giving the gift to. If they like coffee, give them a basket full of coffee. If they like candy, give them a basket full of their favorite candies. This is one of the most personalized gifts you can give, and if you spice it up a bit with ribbons, a nice looking basket, some tissue paper and even some plastic wrap around the outside it can look really nice.
For my next idea, you can make custom scented candles. In a short, simple description, you can melt down crayons, add a scent, place the melted wax in a mold and stick a wick in the middle. It’s a bit more complicated if you want to add designs, different colors, and even adding material to the middle. One of my favorite ideas is to place sea shells in the middle of the candle, so as it melts, the seashells appear. These can be a wonderful summer birthday present, or a beautiful holiday gift.
Now, if you really want to get creative, make some art. If you’re good at drawing, draw a landscape of a beautiful scene around their location, or even draw a portrait of them, or their family, if you’re good at it. You can get creative with this too. Drawing, or painting, can lead you anywhere. Just start thinking and starting painting.
All of these gift ideas are simple ideas that can keep you on budget. From an IOU booklet that costs you nothing besides paper to write on, to a gift basket with store bought items beautifully placed in a decorated basket. Everything here can be made by hand, and come from the heart. Gift giving doesn’t have to break the budget; you just need to get creative.

With gas prices of more than $4 per gallon driving a car is becoming a luxury.I don’t know about you but the high prices of gas are beginning to take a huge chunk out of my budget, so for the past month I have been testing a few gas saving tips. Here is the list I hope that you will find some of these tips useful.

1- Get a GPS: Are you sure that you are using the best route to work? By putting a GPS tracking system in your car you will be able to select the best direct routs to where you want to go. A shorter route equals less gas usage.

2- Buy a fuel-efficient car: With those gas prices you should really consider selling your old SUV.Some of those hybrids achieve mileage of more than 40mpg.

3 - One car for the whole family: If you own more than one car see if you and your family can combine your errands in a way that will require using only one of them

4- Avoid long warm-ups: Warm-ups shouldn’t be more than a minute longer. Even 30-40 seconds are enough for the oil to circulate trough the engine.

5- Clean your trunk: For every extra 100 pounds you lose one 1mpg.

6- Drive Slower: This is not a race you just need to get from point A to point B no one will give you extra points if you get there a minute or two earlier. Keep your speed under 60 miles per hour and you can save a good deal of money.

7- Don’t use the breaks so often instead slow down gradually

8- Don’t let your car idle: If you are going to stay on one place for more than a minute turn the engine off.

9- Try to avoid Rush hour: Go to work a bit earlier or later (if possible) to avoid rush hour.

10- Roll up your windows when on the highway: Keep your windows up while driving on the highway this way you can avoid unnecessary drag.

11- Turn off the air conditioning: Keeping your air conditioning on “Max” can reduce your mpg by up to 20%.

12- Don’t stack anything on top of your car: Keeping things like luggage or bike racks on your car will increase the drag.

13- Keep your car clean – dirtiness can increase the drag

14- Buy a fuel monitor: A fuel monitor is the best way to keep track of your mpg.

15- Use overdrive: If your car is equipped with overdrive make use of the overdrive gear as soon as your speed is high enough.

16- Avoid jackrabbit starts – I know it’s cool to hear the engine rev hard but those jackrabbit starts consume a huge amount of gas because the engine has to work harder to get you up to speed.

17- Make sure your tires inflate properly: Proper air pressure results in better gas mileage.

18- Switch your tires from winter to summer: Larger tires are less fuel efficient

19- Don’t use premium gas if you don’t have to. Check your owners manual to see which gas is best suited for your car. Premium gas is more expensive but not always better for your car.

20- Keep air filters clean: If your engine air filter gets dirty it causes your engine to work harder and makes your car less fuel-efficient.

21- Don’t forget to change your oil regularly: Changing your oil regularly will cause your engine to run better and improve your gas mileage.

22- Fuel efficient tires: You might want to consider buying fuel efficient tires. Made from innovative materials they are designed to roll with less resistance.

23- Keep your car’s engine tuned: A well tuned engine can significantly approve the car performance.

24- Rotate tires and check alignment: Rotating your tires will improve your car performance and gas mileage.

25- Steer clear of gas-saving gadgets – Why? Most of them are a pure scam, not only that they wont help you but there is a pretty big chance that they will actually increase your mileage.

26- Tighten up the gas cap: I’m not sure if this is true or just a myth but since it won’t hurt you might as well do it. People say that if you gas cap aint tight enough the gas has an escape route and might evaporate fast. according to a statistic I found 147 million gallons of gas evaporate each year because of lose or missing gas caps.

27- Find the lowest gas price near you: Use websites like gasbuddy.com to find the lowest gas prices near you.

28- Going on a holiday? Consider staying in a Bed and breakfast instead a regular hotel. Some of those places offer gas gift cards and discount packages. Check: http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/Specials.aspx?ctx=freegas for more details.

29- Always carry cash: Some gas station charge you more if you want to pay with credit card

30- Buy gas at mornings or evenings: All gas stations have there storage tanks under the ground and the colder the ground the more dens the gasoline is. If you buy gas during a hot day your gallon might not be exactly a gallon.

31- Take advantage of discounts: Just google “gas discounts” or “gas coupons” and you will find hundreds of great deals.

32- Use Gas Rebate Credit Cards: Using the right credit card can save you a lot of money on gas.A small online research will help you find the best deals.

33- Don’t top off your tank: Topping or overfilling your tank may result in lost gas.

34- Buy gas during the week: Gas prices always go up a few cents just before and during the weekend. The best time to buy gas is on Monday or Tuesday.

35- Buy gas from a busy station: Slow gas stations have gas that has been sitting in there tanks for longer period of time which can bring to contamination. Fresh gas is always more powerful.

36- Buy gas a few days before the holidays: Gas stations always increase the price during the holidays fill your car a few days before that and you can save a few bucks.

37- Join a loyalty club: Some of the gas stations have loyalty clubs that offer decent discounts when you become a member.

38- Pump gas slowly: If you are pumping fast some of the liquid that goes in your tank becomes vapor

39 – Don’t fill up when you tank is nearly empty fill when half full: This way the gas has less space to evaporate in.

40- Carpool: Carpooling is a great way to save money on gas. The more people you get to join the club the more money you will save. Think of it this way…If there are four people in the car you will pay just for 1/4th of the gas price

41- Combine errands: Try to combine your shopping errands in to one weekly trip.

42- Walking, riding a bike or public transport: The best way to save money on gas is not driving. You can always try walking to work or using public transport to get to your desired location.

43- Park and ride: Using the park and ride services and save you hundreds of dollars monthly on gas. Just leave your car on the parking lot and use the bus for the rest of your trip.

44- Ask your employer for help: Some employers might pay for your gas if you agree to put company adverts on your car.

45- Shop online: Instead of driving to the shop place an online order.

46- Telecommute: Ask your boss if its possible to telecommute. Working from home is always better than having to drive to work every day.

47- Walk in the restaurant instead of using the drive thru: Leaving your car idle for long time will hurt your fuel-efficiency instead of sitting in your car just park in the nearest parking space available and place your order in the restaurant.

48- Park between errands: Lets say that have to rent a movie from Blockbuster and buy some groceries after work, instead of driving to both locations try to find two that are near to each other, park in between and walk.

49- Park in the shade: Leaving your car under the hot summer sun will make your gas evaporate faster.

50- Don’t use your car during the day: Once you go to work use public transportation to complete your daily errands.
